They lack the kind of righteousness that God provides to believers. 1 Corinthians 1:30: But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:Matthew 19:17b: . . . there is none good but one, that is, God: . . . There is only one that is truly good, there is only one source of good and there is only one way of access to the source of good. The only way of access to the goodness of God is Jesus. Those who have Jesus living in their hearts have constant access to the goodness of God, but they seem to be good in different degrees. There are some Christians that most everybody knows are good. Billy Graham and others like him come to mind. There are some Christians that almost nobody knows are good. The goodness in them is almost invisible. Like Christians are good in varying degrees, unbelievers are bad in varying degrees. Some are so bad that most everyone knows they are bad. Like the goodness of many Christians is almost invisible, the badness of some unbelievers is almost invisible. Almost nobody knows that they are bad. It is difficult for mortal men to see any difference between the almost invisible goodness of some Christians and the almost invisible badness of some unbelievers, but God sees a great difference. His opinions are the ones that count. His Word, the Bible says that Christians are like Him in this world even though many of us don*t do a good job of showing that. 1 John 4:17b: . . . because as he is, so are we in this world.Unbelievers (including Muslims) are not like God in this world. Men believe there are good unbelievers and bad unbelievers, but according to God*s standard, without faith, there are no good men. Romans 3:10: As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Only those with faith in God are righteous in His sight. He counts the faith of believers for righteousness. Galatians 3:6: Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.What unbelievers (including Muslims) lack is faith in Christ. Because of a lack of faith in Him, God does not count them as righteous. If an individual happens not to be a Muslim but has not received Jesus, in God*s eyes, he is in the same condition as a Muslim who has not received Jesus. |
